3. Treasurer’s Report. MP reported bank balance £1743-47.

4. To consider progress in regard to following main issues

  1. Progress with gaining SC Planning Application Consultee status for all four parishes. PW reported that he had received no satisfactory response from SC but would continue to press

  1. Tree root damage to pavement outside Estate Agent. All that had happened was the erection of a better barrier around the affected area. PW said he would chase.

  1. State of roads especially deep pot holes in High St, the depression in Station Rd and the very bad surface in Cross Road – request for SC to meet on site

No progress re a meeting with SC PW reported

  1. The Crown Pub - poor colour match of bricks spoils the otherwise good work

PW reported that no action had been taken by Marstons but he would chase.

  1. Consideration of the advantages and disadvantages of charitable status for ADCS

PW had made no progress but would report action soon.

5. Matters arising

  1. Possible Corporate Membership.  RS reported that following the AGM the Air Ambulance speaker had called him and said they were very impressed by the work of the Society and wondered how they could be members and supporters. They said perhaps several of their officers could ask to join as members. RS agreed that this was possible but that the question of corporate membership was to be discussed at the December committee meeting and whist corporate membership was not appropriate, as the Society would not wish to seek significant corporate membership subscription from the air ambulance charity, their similar point would be considered. RS thought that corporate membership of about 5 opt 6 of the largest local businesses may agree to take out corporate membership and this could possibly raise significant income. The down side is that if any matters arose where the business was involved there could be a conflict of interest. RS asked all to consider the two matters and then it could be discussed further

  1. Possible ADCS Annual Calendar Project.  RS noted that Anne Taylor had ceased to produce her very popular Albrighton Calendar which had drawings of local buildings and landmarks. Perhaps the Society could produce an annual calendar. RS and PW had asked Anne if she would allow us to use her many drawings but she declined. The calendar could alternatively use photographs of local buildings/landmarks and/or Society events such as the Fayre Day stall, award presentations, bulb planting etc. Should it be printed commercially? DS suggested there software was available for making the dates part and it could possibly be made by ourselves? All to consider and discussed further.

  1. Request for help by a resident at Millfields estate regarding speeding on Kingswood

Road – no update reported

d   MP suggested a project that ADCS might wish to take onboard this was to produce and distribute a ‘Welcome Pack’, mainly aimed at the Millfields development but could include any new residents to Albrighton.

6. Any Other Business
